LEAP Testimonials: Jacqueline, Danny, Cynthia, Emily, Kareem

83“Before coming to the program I was not sure what to expect because there are so many skeptical programs that do Palestine work, but after coming I believe that any Palestinian, or anyone in solidarity with Palestinians, should do a program like this to help get a better glimpse of the plight of refugees and have a direct impact on the people.”

-Jacqueline, San Francisco State University, Summer 2012

“LEAP opened my eyes to a world where my own stereotypes were challenged. Colleagues quickly became friends and then family. It really was a unique hands-on opportunity doing important work. In the end you walk away gaining more than imagined.”

-Danny, Kansas State, Summer 2012

79“If you are Palestinian, you must do this. If you are not Palestinian, you must do this. There are no words that can do this place and its people justice. Indescribable, profound, and deeply moving. Thank you LEAP, you have changed us in more ways than one.”

-Cynthia, Summer 2012

“This has been a truly amazing experience! These kids have made me fall in love and given me some direction within my life.”

-Emily, Carthage College, Summer 2012

LEAP Program

LEAP is a grassroots volunteer program established to provide educational empowerment projects to support the intellectual growth and creative curiosity of refugee-youth in Lebanon so they may become agents of change. As an apolitical humanitarian US-based organization, LEAP aims to raise awareness about the plight of Palestinian refugees in general, but particularly in Lebanon, to American volunteers.
